Dr. Ashok Seth is the Chairman of Fortis Escorts Heart Institute in New Delhi and the Fortis Healthcare Medical Council.
He is also an Adjunct Professor of Cardiology at JN Medical College (Aligarh Muslim University).
With 40 years of experience, Dr. Seth has been a leading figure in Interventional Cardiology, making significant contributions to the field's development, scientific progress, and education.
He has pioneered numerous angioplasty techniques in India and the Asia Pacific region, including impella-supported complex angioplasties, Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI), and Intravascular Lithotripsy (IVL).
Throughout his career, he has performed over 25,000 angioplasties and 60,000 angiographies and is recognized in the LIMCA Book of Records.
He is the President of the Asian Pacific Society of Interventional Cardiology (APSIC) and the Past President of the Cardiological Society of India (CSI).
In recognition of his contributions, Dr. Seth has been awarded the National Honour of Padma Shri in 2003, Padma Bhushan in 2015, and the B.C.Roy National Award for Eminent Medical Person in January 2017.
He has also been awarded the National Honour of the Republic of Spain Crus Officer with Insignia Order of Isabella the Catholic, Master Interventionalist (MSCAI) by the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography & Interventions (USA), and the Lifetime Achievement in Interventional Cardiology Award by Chien Foundation (Singapore), in addition to 100 other national and international awards.
Dr. Seth has played a key role as the Founder/Course Director of five major National and international Angioplasty Teaching Courses: India Live, India Valves, CHIP-CTO India, AICT-Asia PCR, and Imaging & Physiology Council of India.
He has been invited to lecture at over 600 national and international meetings. He has conducted live demonstrations to teach complex angioplasty techniques at more than 150 national and international meetings worldwide, including prestigious events such as TCT (Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics) in the USA, Euro PCR in Paris, and Singapore Live in Singapore.
With over 500 publications in peer-reviewed Indian and International medical journals and chapters in 30 books on Cardiology, Dr. Seth has also served as the Editor of 3 books.
He is renowned as a teacher and has provided advanced training in angioplasty techniques to more than 500 cardiologists from India and abroad.
Dr. Seth has been honored with Doctorates from six esteemed national universities: BHU, AMU, Jamia Millia Islamia, Amity, Shiv Nadar, and Teerthankar Mahavir University.
His outstanding contributions have been recognized through various accolades, such as being listed as the 'Most Glorious Alumni of J N Medical College, AMU for the past 50 Years' at the Golden Jubilee of the College 2012, and as one of the '75 Changemakers of Indian Healthcare since Independence (last 75 years)' by HEAL Foundation 2022.

Dr. Seth has been the Principal Investigator of numerous studies, particularly for 'made in India' medical devices, and holds honorary advisory/consultant positions with medical device innovation companies such as Meril, Abbott, and SMT.
Moreover, he is a proctor for Myval, Evolut, and Accurate Neo transcatheter valves and trains other interventional cardiologists in the TAVI technique.
